Everett Community Growers began as a grassroots group that started the Florence Street Community Garden in 2012. In 2014, a group led by Kathleen O’Brien, Director of the Everett Community Health Partnership, conducted a land inventory for site suitability for urban agriculture. Kathleen’s thesis, including the land inventory, is available here.
In 2017, ECG updated the land inventory to reflect new data and provided a summary report available here.
Since 2012, ECG has expanded to two additional sites, serving more than thirty families and donating fresh produce to the Bread of Life food pantry. Click on one of the story map links below to learn more:
